Humax have confirmed to PVRJunction the release of a new updated version of the software for Foxsat-HDR Freesat+ PVR customers. It is now with the DTG, who organise the over the air software update timetables, to schedule.
The news clears up some of the uncertainly over when the software update, which has been mostly ready for some time, will be made available; the software release could not take place until the Freesat BBC iPlayer infrastructure could be tested under a wider audience. The software changes include the following items:
• Support for BBC iPlayer service (service availability to be confirmed by freesat)
• Auto Delete function included
• Ability to Delete Recorded Programmes from the Media List while recording or playing back.
• RGB output available on HD content (Live TV and Recordings)
• Resolved ITV HD Schedules disappearing after a channel scan
• Freesat schedules no longer removed after a Manual Tune.
• Resolved issue with Subtitles appearing when use Time Shift Recording.
• Resolved issues playing back encrypted HD content from an external device.
• Diagnostic Menu now displays the signal levels for both tuners correctly.
• NEW icon now appears in the Media List (Simple view) on Folders with new recordings.
• Resolved issues with Series schedules failing to record.
• EPG Genre screen now appears in two columns
• Resolved Lip-Sync issue resetting after a power cycle.
• Resolved incorrect character appearing on Postcode in the Diagnostic menu.
• Resolved lockup issue when recordings 2 TV channels and changing to a Radio channel.
• Resolved intermittent Lip-sync issue when accessing ITV-HD
• Changes made to some on screen messages regarding conflicts
Most of the changes are included in the above list, which has one or two additions from our listing on PVRJunction last month. The current plan assumes the software filters out into the public domain from 10th November onwards, with release notes appearing on Humax’s website in due course.

ooh iplayer. Nice one Humax
The only thing that annoys me is not being able to delete when the machine is recording. Which is often. Looking forward to this new software now.
Thanks pvrjunction.
I congratulate Humax for revisiting the freesat hdr and allowing the delete button to work while recording. The list of changes shows Humax have put thought into how to improve the hdr.
I have one question though. What is so wrong with a delete button from the recording list itself rather than going through another menu system? E.g. just highlight a recording in the list and press a button on the remote to delete. It is simple and what consumers expect.
Its nuts really, Trackpad. 100% agree. Still, it is a good pvr
Download schedule from DTG is here

Looking forward to the free iPlayer conversion and using ‘catch up TV’ – via my TV.
I was wondering when this new software would come out. Thanks PVRJUNCTION.
So I guess we have to wait and see what dates the DTG tell Humax they can do?
We spoke to Humax support on Friday and were told us the same about the over the air update this month. Although they did warn the DTG may schedule the update at the end of the month.
With members of the public getting the new software to trial BBC iplayer from tomorrow, Humax should make it available for download on their website and well before the over the air update. Otherwise the software will go on file sharing websites and you won’t know if it will contain a virus or malicious code…
The above list (firmware) itself looks great. Well done Humax.
We’ve only had our FoxSat HDR a month or so. Mainly so we could watch ITV1 for things STV aren’t showing. Midsommer Murders etc.
One thing I really miss from our PVR 9200 is the ability to go back and record something you’ve timeshifted/paused. The original 9200 didn’t let you do this, but it was fixed in an update. It’s a pity they couldn’t add this feature to this update too.
Does anyone know what version of the firmware will contain iPlayer support? Humax’s website has version 1.00.03 available currently, but doesn’t give a release date for that version. I also notice that the broadcast for this version is ending today on the DTG OTA firmware downloads service, with (currently) no mention of the new firmware.
BGJr, according to respected member Barry at hummy.org.uk the new version number is HPRSFCI 1.00.11 and will be available for the general public to download over the air manually from the receiver, from 4pm 10th November (those who know about it). For everyone else, the machine should automatically download and intall the new version unattended at 3am 11th November.
The DTG and Humax websites will update accordingly with official information like the OTA timetable, release notes and a downloadable version, in due course.
Apparently so! Users can also download it from Humax’s support site as of this point in time too: http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/support/downloadcenter_model.aspx?category_seq=65
Thanks for the reply.
As pleased as i am to see these software updates, I would love Humax to upgrade this current model to a larger HDD, i.e. 500 GB, as one cannot archive content form the HDD ( as far as i’m aware). HD programmes would soon fill the alloted the 320 GB space!
You can upgrade it yourself, I put a 1tb Samsung eco drive in mine, works a treat and LOADSASPACE! Doesn’t take more than 1tb apparently.
Is this update actually coming or has everyone forgotten about it?
iPlayer Beta update working now. Just press the RED button when you’re on a BBC channel. The higher quality versions are available and the standard version worked on my internet connection at 9.40pm when I know from experience that iPlayer is throttled by my ISP through the normal iPlayer site. I can only presume that the Beta/freesat site is a different server address that hasn’t been throttled…yet!
Cool, GUI. Select the BBC chanel you want, then which of the last 7 days and then the program. Or all the normal genre/catagory searches.
